It’s just another day on the Scrap: lose the last of your credits at the WarDome, dodge the gangs and religious fanatics, discover you can destroy electronics with your mind, stumble upon the deadliest robot ever built… It’s never easy to review a finale in a series without giving too much away, so I’ll just leave things by saying get ready for a book full of war, betrayals, friendships and a racing heart.GENRE: Young-Adult, Sci-fi Fantasy, Dystopia. Grimm, Diesel and Abe all played a starring role and really brought something new to the story. I really enjoyed the focus on the ‘freaks’, Lemon’s new found group, this time. His sarcasm I lived for was a little lacking in book three. Lifel1k3 was still my favourite book in the trilogy, simply because I loved Cricket just that bit more in his little body, instead of his warbot one. The action is 100% non stop but we were still treated to laughs and heartbreak along the way. With Faith ever by his side and Eve willing to help, they only need to break into the mainframe to do it. Lifelike Gabe, determined to release a virus to erase the 3 laws the robots must operate by, thereby freeing them forever, will stop at nothing – including eradicating humanity altogether. This time, the story followed two points of view: Lemon and her new group of friends, and the Lifelike’s, as they all struggled on opposite sides of a war.

Truel1f3 kicks off right where Dev1at3 finished – leaving us with that crazy cliff hanger involving a giant bomb. I was always much fonder of Lemon Fresh than Eve, although Cricket has always stolen the show for me. Lifel1k3 has been one of my favourite series and I’ve especially loved the way the focus has shifted from Eve to Lemon as a main character. Please note Truel1f3 is book 3 in the Lifel1k3 series, so there may be spoilers for book 1, Lifel1k3 or book 2, Dev1at3 in my review and they may not be who you think they are. In the end, violent clashes and heartbreaking choices reveal the true heroes.

But the threat doesn’t stop there, because the lifelikes are determined to access the program that will set every robot free, a task requiring both Eve and Ana, the girl she was created to replace. But with the country on the brink of a new world war–this time between the BioMaas swarm at CityHive and Daedalus’s army at Megopolis, loyalties will be pushed to the brink, unlikely alliances will form and with them, betrayals. For Eve and Lemon, discovering the truth about themselves–and each other–was too much for their friendship to take. And deciding whose side you’re on could be the difference between life and death.
